UCAA Board Meeting Summary

Time: 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 3, 2007
Place: Hunan Gourmet (Yue Yang Lou), 163 South Murphy Ave, Sunnyvale, CA 94096
Participants: 13 representatives from 12 members. (See attached list)
Meeting secretary: Miangang Zhao

Discussions:

- Finalize activity VP and CFO positions
- Non members can also be in the email list
- Board member replacement
- The withdraw procedure in the future
- Website and domain name
- The function of EBOD.

Decisions:

- Keep EBOD at this moment. Recommended by-law change to make the board as volunteer base (membership will include any new alumni association that wants to contribute and commits to the basic EBOD requirements)

- In responding to the membership withdraw, decided replace with two EBOD members: Jilin University Alumni Association at Silicon Valley and Silicon Valley Tianjin University Alumni Association

- New Officers:
CFO: Steve Shi Lin (South China University of Technology Alumni, America)
VP of Activities Subcomittee: Jilin University Alumni Association at Silicon Valley ; Silicon Valley Tianjin University Alumni Association

- Modify bylaw in the future because of couple of issues have been brought up by members
- Membership withdraw accepted. Will send formal approval notice.
- Non-UCAA member can be in the general email list. Non-member’s posting should be approved by executive officers.

Action Items:

- Web Site:
1. President to send a formal email to Tsinghua Network to request for its decision. .
2. Kevin to apply for a new domain name (for example: ucaanc.org) if UCAA previous domain name www.ucaaa.org can not be back to UCAA. UCAA takes full control of the website from now on.

- Formal approval letter to Tsinghua Network for its membership withdraw
